MY HISTORY

MY HISTORY

It is sometime in the winter of 2017-2018 when I discover the wonderful works of Andrea Melegh. First only online, on her website, on social media. As if they were all drawn and painted from my soul. Curves bend, colours blur, fairytale shapes, vibrant ripples fill my soul as I watch...

... it took me a few months until I called her. I would love to try it - I told her, and since I would have liked to invite Andrea as a guest of the "Ridikül Szalon Pécs", I was increasingly eager to meet her, talk and paint!

A few of us met in the attic studio, a small frame in front of me with a piece of silk stretched over it, my hand trembling as I held the contour... Well, you have to start somewhere... The lines flew by, one after the other.

Andrea was my guest at the Ridikül womens' club monthly discussion in March 2018 and I've been following her work and learning so much from her ever since. Over the years, my daughter has joined in and made both "ballet tulips" and "carnivorous plants" - as unrepeatable and priceless masterpieces of silk art!

Every room in our home is filled with frames, and any day of the year there is a piece drying somewhere...

And what started as a hobby now has matured into an amateur artistic enterprise, full of consciousness and plans for the future.
